The Synsip recorder, SynRec product is an independent VOIP recording engine, developed by Synsip, and running on Linux. The system sniffs and decode, SIP 2.0 protocol and RTP stream from a Ethernet Span monitoring switch port, or a dedicated old fashion 100mb HUB or using, Ehternet TAP device (Barracuda Network or Netoptics devices) .

The major advantage of the Synsip recorder is that it completely offloads the Voip, PBX, Call Manager, or Communication manager from the heavy recording task and file processing.

The package comes with an easy to use web interface that allow the user for searching on any communication criteria, date, time, caller, callee, callerip, callee ip, call duration. The system includes powerful complex filters for combining multiple search criteria.

File can be listen directly from the browser interface, the latest version of SynRec includes direct ogg/vobis output format, that allow new browsers to read wave file directly from internal browser player. Call direction is given in the grid, and is determined according to the host definition defined in the application configuration file.
